Re-lining of 39 Wastewater Pumping Chambers throughout SA

Due to aging infrastructure, the client was engaged to commence the re-lining of 39 Wastewater Pumping Chambers throughout South Australia.

To enable the pumping chambers to be accessed for re-lining works, NPE was approached by the client to undertake Bypass Pumping of these stations.

The bypass sites were split into three main areas based on location; SA Rural North, Adelaide Metropolitan and SA Rural South – these are currently being undertaken over an approximately 12-month period.

The vast majority of sites called for fairly minimal pumping flows and heads (below 20 l/sec @ 20m TDH).

The NPE Adelaide Installation Team, headed by Mark McAuley, would install a Duty Submersible Pump (fed via a Generator and Control Panel) and a Standby BBA Diesel unit. This made for the commonality of all equipment and ease of site installation.

The NPE Telemetry Team would assist in setting up 24/7 monitoring and communication of all installations, allowing the NPE Adelaide Service Team to respond promptly to any faults that may occur and allowing NPE and the client to view the system function online remotely.
