Generator Hire and Power Solution Packages

Developing A Power Plan With Suitable Equipment Scoped For The Project

NPE operates from 13 locations across Australia, servicing the wider Pacific region. NPE‘s strengths are focused on the following:

  • Custom built equipment designed to withstand harsh environments and
    extreme climate conditions
  • Project management, including contractual and construction supervision
  • Electrical power systems, including generation, distribution, high & low
    voltage installations, protection and control
  • An extensive power generation fleet that can be rapidly mobilised by land, sea, or air
  • Technical support personnel for on-site construction supervision,
commissioning and training services and maintenance support
  • NPE can offer load bank packages which are as easily mobilised as our
generator fleet. Our load banks are equipped with a computerised control system for full data capture of the power system under test.

Analysis
Step one in developing a power plan is to analyse your actual power requirements. This is achieved by reviewing the items and processes you wish to power and/or using load analysers to show what power is currently being used.

Once this information is obtained, a load analysis chart can be created showing the load behaviour of your application.

Comparison
Once analysis is complete, the size of generators required is established. From here, the available engines in these size ranges are compared on such factors as fuel economy, serviceability and availability of parts.

The Power Plan
Once sizing and engine selection has been completed, a formal power plan can be developed to outline the necessary steps to ensure the correct generator/s are used to provide the best overall value to the project.

NPE weighted the following critical elements to enable a benchmark to be generated for each supplier and the relevant responses. Consideration criteria elements of a power plan includes the following:

  • Fuel consumption/ efficiency
  • Emissions
  • Warranties
  • Reliability
  • Compliance to AS3000
  • Safety systems
  • Spare parts
  • Technical support
  •  Engineering support
  •  Locally based
  • Commercial
